It’s a beautiful day to be a neighbor.
Today’s Family Wins devotional reflects on 1 Thessalonians 5:17 — “Pray continually.”
That’s a tall order in a non-stop world. It’s hard enough to pray continually while kneeling — how do you do it while driving, or eating, or in the middle of a workday? Alexander McLaren offers a way through: if prayer means only words of petition, continual prayer is impossible. But if prayer also means a mental attitude of devotion, a running awareness of God underneath everything else you’re doing, then unceasing prayer is within reach. And it doesn’t have to be long to be real. Peter’s whole prayer was three words: “Lord, save me.” The tax collector’s was six: “God, have mercy on me, a sinner.” What matters isn’t the volume of words. It’s keeping the line open.

A godly husband isn’t made in a day. Neither is a godly wife, a godly father, or a godly mother. They’re made in moments like this — one verse, one choice, one day at a time.
