It’s a beautiful day to be a neighbor.
Today’s Family Wins devotional reflects on Hebrews 3:1 — “Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest.”
Take away the heart, and the body has no life. Take away Christ, and whatever is left is not the Christian life. Hebrews 3 calls you to fix your thoughts on Jesus, and F.B. Meyer walks through the who, why, and how of that call. We should join the saints of every age in gazing at Christ. What gives us the right? We share in the heavenly calling. We have turned from the world and the pull of sin, and we are seeking the heavenly city. By grace, we have the right to live in a daily, personal vision of our King. And how should we see Him? As Apostle, sent from the Father’s heart to mankind. As High Priest, tempted in every way just as we are, yet without sin, who bears our needs, sins, and sorrows on His heart. As the Son, beside whom Moses was only a servant. As Creator, through whom all things were made. As Head of the household of faith. And as the All-Faithful One, who will never give up His charge. Consider Jesus in each of these, and rejoice in Him. Spend a few quiet moments with your Apostle, Priest, Creator, and All-Faithful One, until His greatness fills you with gratitude that He is your Savior and Lord.

A godly husband isn’t made in a day. Neither is a godly wife, a godly father, or a godly mother. They’re made in moments like this one — one verse, one choice, one day at a time.
