It’s a beautiful day to be a neighbor.
Today’s Family Wins devotional reflects on 2 Timothy 2:21 — “Those who cleanse themselves will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master, and prepared to do any good work.”
Stir up. Hold fast. Be strong. Endure hardness. Study. Shun. Flee. At first glance, the Christian life can look like a do-it-yourself project — until you actually try it and discover how inadequate your own strength really is. John Calvin understood that tension well. We’re clearly called to holiness, he wrote, but the calling is one thing and the power to carry it out is another. That power belongs to the Lord, who promised through Ezekiel to send His own Spirit to do the cleansing we can’t do ourselves. It’s one thing to read the Word. It’s another to live it — and enthusiasm is always easier than obedience. Becoming an instrument useful to the Master takes more than zeal. It takes strength only the Master can supply.

A godly husband isn’t made in a day. Neither is a godly wife, a godly father, or a godly mother. They’re made in moments like this — one verse, one choice, one day at a time.
