Episode 5: Prayer Is the Next Best Thing to Being There | Colossians 4:12 — Coach C’s Neighborhood

It’s a beautiful day to be a neighbor.

Today’s Family Wins devotional reflects on Colossians 4:12 — Epaphras, a servant of Christ, “always wrestling in prayer” for the believers back home in Colossae.

Contrary to what you may have heard, long distance is not the next best thing to being there. Prayer is. Epaphras was far from the people he loved, and that distance only made his prayer for them more urgent — not a hasty, mumbled request, but the kind of wrestling F.B. Meyer compared to an athlete straining for the prize. We’ll never know this side of heaven how much has been accomplished not by our own effort, but by someone else laboring for us in prayer. It isn’t always possible to be with the one you love. But you can always pray.

After you listen, go back and read Colossians 4:2-18 for yourself — open your devotional to page 680, pull up the app, or grab your free copy at mindwolves.com/tfw. Let God speak to you directly, in your own time, in your own home.

A godly husband isn’t made in a day. Neither is a godly wife, a godly father, or a godly mother. They’re made in moments like this — one verse, one choice, one day at a time.

If this neighborhood feels like home, subscribe to the channel. That way, every day, you’ll have a reminder waiting — one more chance to open the Word and feed the good wolf.

Grace and peace to you and your home.
