This clip is taken from the special meeting of the Pine-Richland school board on June 2, 2021. The meeting was called to vote on the approval of hiring a Head Football Coach for the 2021-22 school year. The speaker is me, Marc Casciani, Treasurer of the board.
Because traditional and social media outlets distort the truth to create fake news, I wanted my message and conversation with the audience to be available for the viewer to form their own opinion. Thank you for watching. The runtime is 5 minutes.
It is my genuine pleasure to serve the PR school district and community. Thank you for allowing me to serve.
Leadership can be lonely. Leadership means not trying to win a popularity contest. Leadership is about taking a stance for what you know is right…regardless of emotions or popular opinion. I live hundreds of miles away and have no idea about what the tension is…but what I just saw on the screen is a leader trying to move a community beyond an emotional stalemate with no end in sight—trying to move past the anchor of negativity that will keep that community divided. He was painfully professional in the face of rudeness coming from teens and adults. I’d proudly stand with this guy any time and any where. There are so many lessons to be drawn from the way Marc handled himself. Nicely done.
