Neighborly Love Podcast, Episode 50 – Jonathan “JJ” Cuddy

Ordinary People. Extraordinary Conversations.

If “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” and “The Parable of the Good Samaritan” collided at an intersection, then the Neighborly Love podcast would be the result. It features casual conversations over coffee in a “virtual coffee shop” that lean into the power of empathy. It’s about feeling heard, valued, and understood. It’s about serving others. It’s about depositing money in our relational banks.

Neighborly Love is an original podcast by MindWolves. Host Marc Casciani, author of Craft Your Calling, interviews ordinary people about their hearts for God and serving others for the greater good.

Jonathan “JJ” Cuddy

Marc interviews Jonathan “JJ” Cuddy, a senior at John Carroll University (JCU) and aspiring advising professional seeking to build a career in insurance and wealth management. JJ answers three thought-provoking questions: (1) Tell me about a time when you did something nice for someone?, (2) What would you do for a living if money weren’t an issue?, and (3) Do you have a dream that involves serving others? JJ embodies the Jesuit Catholic education’s mission of developing “men and women for and with others” and tells a story about helping freshmen move into their dorms at JCU, shares how difficult question #2 is to answer, but suspects he would teach at his local parish if money was not a variable, and articulates a dream to blend his business acumen with his passion to serve the homeless in Cleveland through JCU’s Labre Project, named after Saint Benedict Joseph Labre. Here is an excerpt from the Labre Prayer, “Enable us to see Jesus in our poor brothers and sisters and not judge by appearances. Make us realize that in helping them we are helping Jesus. Show us how to befriend them and not pass them by.
