I love my kids so much I would lay down my life for them. There is no greater expression of my love for them than that.
No matter what they do wrong, they are still my kids. It does not reduce my love for them. My love for them is unconditional.
I tell them that often. More importantly, my actions reinforce what I say because I want them to believe it. My hope is this belief translates into their love of me too. I want to feel their love. In fact, I need it. It is the essence of our nature to crave love.
My son has a wonderful heart. He’s compassionate, especially towards babies and infants. They flock to him, and he’s so gentle and good with them. He also has amazing hand, eye coordination and spacial awareness. He has a unique gift … he can not get dizzy! He can spin to infinity and still walk a straight line. His steadiness is remarkable.
My daughter is the sweetest person I know. She’s like honey, in fact her name means honey. She emits radiant energy. She is such a social creature too and can blend into any crowd. She has a unique gift … she does not get nervous in front of an audience. She has a presence and has already performed for 100’s of people. Her voice is amazing.
I affirm them often too. They know who they are, how special they are and that they are dearly loved.
I believe this motives them. I can see it. They live their life with purpose.
This also motivates me. I don’t want to let my guard down. I need to keep doing what I’m doing.
Everyone needs motivational affirmation. In fact, it’s already been done for us. Some of us know that and embrace it. Others are fighting it, which is a shame.
My hope for the unbelievers is that you learn to relax in the love that has been expressed to you. Your purpose is to allow yourself to be loved by the one who has affirmed you. They laid down their life for you. There’s nothing more loving and motivational than that.
